# 1.2.6. QT - Launcher & Update

Qt is a popular C++ library used for developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and multi-platform applications. It provides a comprehensive set of tools and libraries, enabling developers to create applications with a native-looking interface that can run on all major desktop platforms and most mobile or embedded platforms. Qt is widely recognized as a powerful and versatile widget toolkit, allowing developers to create applications with sophisticated, modern designs. Using Qt to develop our game launcher allowed us to create a robust, standalone cross-platform application that could be run on multiple operating systems with minimal effort.
